Adam Billings is a photographer influenced by the vibrant use of colour within modern art, his work explores fashion and portraiture in a bold and playful manner to create slick yet graphic imagery. Through the use of awkward editorial inspirations, he creates portraits within a studio environment that work alongside the commercial industry.
We first discovered Adams' work at the Norwich University of the Arts Graduation Exhibition in the summer of 2023. Being a huge fan of Jessica Walsh, Toilet paper Magazine, and of course the bright bold subversive imagery, we knew this would be a match made in heaven. Adam's style works well within the creative industry, including fashion and editorials. We really feel that he is integral to the style and expertise we can offer our clients.
Harriet (she/her) is an animation director who grew up in Norfolk, UK and discovered she was a weird kid who liked to draw all the time (sometimes on the walls). She has been working in the industry for 8+ years, and has experience working as a director, animator, designer and producer, across music videos, advertising, television series and short films. For her own work she loves to tell funny, relatable stories in an appealing, cartoon animated style and relishes the chance to work with fantastic teams in a variety of styles. She has also written several illustrated books and her debut graphic novel was long listed in 2023 for the First Graphic Novel Award.
She has been fortunate to work with some brilliant people in her career, working on character designs for The Amazing World of Gumball (Cartoon Network TV series), as an animator on music video Lamb’s Wool, for Foster the People and recently working as Producer on award winning BFI funded short film, Beware of Trains, directed by Emma Calder.
Samuel George (b.1997) is a conceptual artist & designer from Leeds, Yorkshire. Having studied at Central Saint Martins (g.2020), they have been working with equipment as a medium to create and reflect life in its most energetic form. SG focuses on the half-stolen bicycle, concrete pavement slab or roadside dining chair to stop and meditate on the things we often overlook, reflecting on a world we’ve constructed together.
With a devoted connection to community, much of the work SG makes is rooted in queer theory, embedded in non-conventional ways of being and understanding. This philosophy informs the art and design to produce concepts
that are both joyful expressions of play and meditative re-evaluations of our existence.
Gabriella Hall is a versatile creative professional specialising in graphic design and illustration. Coming from a fine art background, she has a keen interest in exploring the interplay between digital and analogue methods of image-making whilst delving into the nuanced landscape of memory. Gabriella brings her artistic flair to the commercial sector, crafting graphics and creating design solutions that resonate with innovation and aesthetic appeal.
We linked up with Gabriella through a mutual connection late 2023. We knew her fine art and design practice was the right kind of disruptive and subversive to perfectly suit to The Alt Co. team. Her recent work through BIMA, is a testament of her thirst for pushing boundaries in the creative for design space.
